How to replace the glass in an induction cooker?

Replacing the glass panel of an induction cooker requires careful handling. The core steps include safe cleaning, removing the old panel, cleaning off any remaining adhesive, and installing and securing the new panel. Specific steps are as follows:

Safety Preparation and Shard Removal: Wear cut-resistant gloves before operation to avoid injury from glass shards. If the panel is broken, carefully clean away any remaining glass fragments with pliers or tweezers, paying particular attention to small fragments in the crevices around the edges. If the induction cooker heating coil has been removed, remove the cookware first to create space for subsequent disassembly.

Removing the Old Glass Panel: Unscrew the screws securing the glass panel: Use a screwdriver to turn the screws securing the glass panel counter-clockwise. If the screws are difficult to loosen due to long-term use or rust, use pliers to grip the screw head and assist in turning, avoiding forceful removal that could strip the screws.

Separating the Panel from the Main Unit: After removing all screws, gently lift the glass panel. If the panel is tightly adhered to the main unit, it may be due to residual adhesive. Use a blade to slowly pry along the edges, being careful not to use excessive force that could break the panel.

Cleaning Residual Adhesive: After removing the old panel, thoroughly remove all existing adhesive from the main unit. Use a plastic scraper or blade to scrape along the edges of the adhesive, avoiding scratching the surface of the main unit with metal tools. If the adhesive is stubborn, soften it with a small amount of alcohol or a special adhesive remover before cleaning, ensuring the mounting surface is flat and free of impurities.

Installing the New Glass Panel: Applying Adhesive: Evenly apply high-temperature resistant silicone (use induction cooker-specific adhesive) to the mounting surface of the main unit, with a thickness of approximately 2-3 mm, ensuring all mounting points are covered.

Alignment and Installation: Carefully place the new glass panel on the main unit, aligning it with the screw holes. Gently press the edges of the panel to distribute the adhesive evenly and remove air bubbles. Special Note: The button area must be precisely aligned with the main unit's circuit board to avoid installation misalignment that could cause button malfunction.

Securing Screws: Tighten the screws sequentially from the center outwards, using moderate force to avoid uneven stress on the glass and potential breakage. After tightening, check that the panel edges are flat, without any warping or gaps.

Precautions and Follow-up Inspections

Handling of Corner Damage: If the panel only has minor corner damage that does not affect its use, it does not need to be replaced immediately, but the damaged area should be checked regularly to see if it expands. If cracks or damage to the button area occur, it must be replaced immediately to prevent glass shards from injuring users or water from causing short circuits.

Post-Installation Testing: After installation, run the panel at low power for 10 minutes to check if the panel heats up evenly, if the buttons respond normally, and if there are any abnormal noises or leakage.
