Lampshade Selection

Jul 16, 2026 Leave a message

Lampshades are updated relatively quickly, and most lamps are meticulously designed by designers. For lamps, you don't need to replace the entire lamp; only the outer lampshade needs to be replaced. Therefore, changing the lampshade is a good choice if you want to change your environment.

First, let's understand the decorative effects of different lampshade materials. Fabric lampshades give a simple and elegant impression, paper lampshades can create a hazy and dreamy atmosphere, metal lampshades have a cool and modern feel, while drum-shaped lampshades evoke a sense of nostalgia. In the bedroom, we can choose silk lampshades, especially hand-stitched and hand-painted ones, which can bring a soft feel to the room and add an intimate atmosphere; in the living room, linen or parchment lampshades are suitable.

Second, you only need to pay a little attention to the color. White lampshades have good light transmission and can be paired with crystal bases to create a crystal-clear effect; black and colored lampshades have relatively poor light transmission, radiating light downwards and making the light stronger in certain areas, and can be paired with bronze bases. Finally, choose a lampshade based on the shape of the lamp base. If the lamp base is curved, choose a lampshade with some curves in the same shape. If the lamp base is straight, choose a more regular lampshade. If the lamp base looks bulky, choose a tapered lampshade to reduce the bulkiness.

After a period of use, lampshades not only accumulate dust but also suffer from color fading due to prolonged exposure to light. We can use these simple methods to clean the lampshades carefully and extend their lifespan.
